  • You can meet others with the same condition or circumstance.
  • You can learn more about your condition or circumstance.
  • You can learn more treatment options and coping strategies.
  • You can benefit from a more social experience.

The following Support Groups are offered:

Divorce Care is a seminar/support group designed to minister to people hurting because of separation or divorce.

Each week group members watch a video related to an aspect of separation or divorce. Following the video, group members discuss what they’ve just seen on the video and what’s going on in their lives, receiving support from the group leader and group members.

Groups are facilitated by church members who have experienced healing from divorce and meet for 13 weeks in the fall beginning in August and in the spring beginning in January. New participants are encouraged to join the group at any time during the semester. Participant guides, which include a daily Bible study, are available for purchase for $10.

DivorceCare For Kids is a special group to help children recover from the hurt of separation or divorce. DC4K provides your children with a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn to share their feelings.  For 13 weeks your children become involved in a fun, caring group covering topics that help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.

Each session is filled with motivating and exciting activities like games, crafts, and role playing with discussion times, journaling, and activity books to help your children process the divorce and move forward in their lives. Music, snacks, read aloud stories, exercises, and Bible verses teach your children to relax and rest secure in God’s love. The Kids Like Me and Stories from the Bible video dramas present stories of children just like your children, who are experiencing divorce-related problems and have found help and encouragement.

DC4K is a powerful ministry for kids 5-12 years of age, grades 1-5.

*Pre-registration online is required.

Losing a spouse, child, family member or friend is one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. GriefShare is Broadmoor Baptist Church's grief support group which consists of friendly, caring people who will walk alongside you, understand what you are going through, and want to help you recover from your loss and start rebuilding your life.

You are welcome to begin attending GriefShare at any time. This grief support group is designed to have “self-contained” sessions so you are not required to attend them in sequence. Whatever day you begin in the GriefShare cycle, you will find encouragement and help. If you miss a session, or begin after a cycle has begun, you may continue through the next cycle to view any of the videos you have not seen.

Group meets two cycles annually; each cycle runs for 13 weeks.  For more information on when the next cycle begins or if you have any other questions regarding this grief support group, please call 318-868-6554.

SHIFT is a 13-week program with age-appropriate lessons and activities to help children and adolescents explore their grief and God's promises regarding comfort, healing, hope, and eternity. When the "shifts" of life occur, the aftermath is unpredictable and rarely stable. Our hope for children dealing with the loss of a loved one is that as they process the shift they've undergone, they will be equipped with the necessary tools needed to build a solid foundation of faith and hope. For more information, or to register your child, please call 868-6554.
